A turtle dove flew across the Maxey - Helpston Road on Monday 13 July at 6.45 am and there was a spotted flycatcher sitting on the gravestones in Helpston church yard a few moments later.
Both of these summer migrants are increasingly scarce locally for reasons that are not fully understood, so to see both within five minutes was a nice start to the day.
