Another ringing session yesterday (25 July).
Good showing of young Reed Warblers and a cracking adult male Green Woodpecker caught in the reedbed of all places. Also, another 8 young Chiffchaffs so 32 young ringed in one week.
Interesting to get the retrap Nightingale so late in the season (for them) and I'm wondering if I ringed it on its way somewhere in May 08 and have caught it on its way back this year. I suspect if it was breeding on the heath I might have come across it before now. One of the mysteries of life - just like where they go in Africa.
