A walk around the pits this morning at 6.15 am. A bright, although quite cold, morning with skylarks and meadow pipits singing loudly. There was also a hare running across the central plantation.
2 oystercatcher, 7 redshank, 4 ringed plover, 6 lapwing and 9 shelduck on the main pits. Also a female kestrel with prey and a bout 50 golden plover flying overhead.
There were two little ringed plover, my first this year, on the wet woodland plantation south of the Cut.
