Ouzel and Wheatear

The ring ouzel was still at Swaddywell this morning - another fine, clear start to the day. It was feeding in the stone pit area and flying around, "clicking" sharply between clumps of trees.

Nearby there were four wheatear flitting around amongst the large boulders at the eastern end of the stone pit. One male and three females - the most I have seen at one time in the pit.

Two pairs of lapwing were displaying nearby and three sedge warblers were singing from the reed at the bottom of the main pit. Linnets and whitethroats everywhere, the number of linnets seems particularly high.
