I walked with Henry through the Hanglands this evening at dusk, crossing the north, middle and south heaths.
In total I counted 14 singing nightingale, including two top quality songsters who were really going for their notes! This is the hightest total I have recorded with six on the north heath, five on the middle heath and another three in the southern area of the reserve. I haven't yet explored the new plantations where there are usually another 3-4 songsters. Looks like a very good year for them here.
