Where are the swifts?

Is it just me? I haven't seen any swifts yet around the villages - normally I would have expected t see a see around by 3 May?

Anyone else seen them yet?

Another disappointing development is that the two pairs of lapwing which seemed to be nesting in the wheat field next to Swaddywell appear to have deserted and moved on. Last year they raised four chicks, a notable first, but this year perhaps the foxes or the crows have seen them off. Shame.
