Nightingales at Castor Hanglands

A lovely walk around the Hanglands between 8.30-10pm last night in lovely light and very calm.

At least nine nightingales singing from the central area of the reserve. With the four I found back in May on the new plantation, this makes at least 13 on the site, which is another good year for them. I suspect there may be one or two more, as I haven't explored every bit of the reserve.

Also singing grasshopper warbler and calling cuckoo in the new plantation.
