My late evening run tonight was over towards Ashton, across the fields and once again there was an interesting selection of wildlife to watch as I ran!
A buzzard flapped lazily across the fields by Hilly Wood and a tawny owl flew across from The Lawns and into the Jubilee Wood on the Ashton Road. It is relativley unusual to see a tawny out in the open, flying across fields, but they are noticeably larger and darker than barn owls.
Finally there was a fox sniffing around by Royce Wood as I ran back home in the fading light.
