Whilst we were walking along the side of the Maxey Cut on Thursday,11th February 2010 we noticed a flash of turquoise, straight, and as fast, as an arrow. It was a kingfisher and it settled in one of the bushes on the bank side. As we stalked it so it moved along the Cut. Eventually we were near enough to take this photo with a zoom lens. We have been back several times since and have seen it, but not near enough to get anymore photos.
