Thursday afternoon at Torpel

Spotted during informal workparty at Torpel on Thursday afternoon

• A single Red Kite hunting in and out of the powerlines just above us as the snow came on. Eerie and magnificent to be sharing "victim" space with such an elegant hunter
  
• A Greater Spotted Woodpecker in the large tree in the centre of the field; flew across from the roadside hedgerow, ran up the main trunk of the tree with great agility.
