Castor Hanglands and Brown Hares

A bright, clear morning at the Hanglands today, full of sound - willow warblers, lesser and common whitethroat, nightingale, chiffchaff, blackcap, grasshopper warbler, along with song thrush, marsh tit, green woodpecker etc.

But no sign of cuckoo - others have reported them here earlier this week, so I was hoping to hear my first of the year.

There are plenty of brown hares out and about at the moment. I saw one cross the road near the Heath Road - Ufford Road junction; there were four near Swaddywell yesterday and one near the Hanglands today.
