A lone Whoopper Swan flew over 18 Heath Road this evening, honking briefly as it flew by, presumably on its way north. This is the first I have seen over the garden.
Later a barn owl sat quietly in the window frame of a barn near Helpston at dusk, with a fallow deer passing gingerly nearby.
