Hills & Holes Barnack 26/06/2012

The rains this year are producing a profusion of wild flowers. No more so than the current carpets of rock-roses at Hills & Holes

I also spotted a fine example of dropwort. The meadowsweet of limestone grassland.

                                                               also bladder campion

At Bainton lakes i found some pretty flowers of the bogbean. A plant i have not seen here before. There are also several spots close to the main path displaying bee & pyramidal orchids. Orchids are doing well locally this year. I'm sure they love the damp conditions.
